Coming Soon – The Movies I Can’t Wait to See…

There’s always something new and exciting coming soon, this is just a tiny handful of the ones I’m interested in seeing…

The next 12 months look to be good for film adaptations of musicals. Hopefully they don’t disappoint!

June
The Fault in Our Stars – Based on the novel by John Green, with the tag line “A sick love story”, and a pair of love-struck teenagers living with cancer, this is bound to be a tear-jerker.
Jersey Boys – A film based on the popular musical about Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, directed by Clint Eastwood.

July
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – After the triumph that was Rise of the Planet of the Apes, I’m intrigued to see what comes next…
Fast & Furious 7 – I’m a die hard Fast & Furious fan. I have a massive soft spot for Dominic Toretto and his ‘family’. I’m a little disappointed that Justin Lin isn’t directing this installment, and obviously the death of Paul Walker will have a massive impact on the franchise…

August
Guardians of the Galaxy – My inner nerd is very excited about this one. Starring Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel & Djimon Hounsou, it’s a who’s who of Sci-Fi film and television…

September
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – I’m purely nostalgic about this one. The 1990 version was one of my childhood favorites.

November
Interstellar – With a powerhouse cast including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain, and directed by Christopher Nolan, can they go wrong?
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 – Having read the books and seen the previous films I’m very keen to see the third installment of this series. Jennifer Lawrence is absolutely stunning and has a charisma that draws the viewer in every time.

December
AnnieJamie Foxx stars as Benjamin Stacks (Daddy Warbucks), and Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild and 12 Years a Slave) as Annie. This is another childhood favorite of mine that I’m hoping will be done justice…

January 2015
Into the WoodsSondheim, Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, and then some. Do I need to say more about why I’m excited for this one?
